NEW DELHI, Aug 30: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) is conducting the NEET PG 2026 examination on Sunday, with more than 2.7 lakh medical graduates registered for the postgraduate entrance test.
A total of 2,73,183 candidates have registered for this year’s examination, which is being conducted in a single shift across 1,111 centres located in 338 cities. The examination is being held for admission to postgraduate medical courses across the country.
Candidates have been instructed to follow the examination day requirements mentioned on their admit cards and carry the prescribed identity documents. NBEMS has also issued guidelines on items that can be taken inside examination centres and those that are prohibited.
The 2026 examination includes revised arrangements that candidates were required to note before appearing for the test. Authorities have emphasised compliance with entry procedures and other examination protocols to ensure a smooth and secure conduct of the test.
NEET PG is a key national level entrance examination for doctors seeking admission to postgraduate medical programmes. The large number of registered candidates has resulted in the test being organised across hundreds of centres nationwide.
With the examination being held in a single shift, candidates have been advised to reach their allotted centres well in advance and follow all instructions issued by the examination authorities.
