NEET UG 2026 Application Deadline on March 8, Exam to Be Held May 3

Candidates must complete the registration process by March 8 through the official NTA portal the national medical entrance test will be conducted on May 3.

NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will close the NEET UG 2026 application deadline on March 8, 2026. Aspirants planning to appear for the undergraduate medical entrance examination must submit their registration forms online through the official website before the last date.

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for undergraduate courses will take place on May 3, 2026. The examination will be conducted in pen and paper mode and will run for three hours, from 2 pm to 5 pm, at examination centres across India.

Correction Window for Applications

Applicants who have already submitted their forms will get an opportunity to modify certain details during the correction period scheduled from March 10 to March 12, 2026. The city intimation slip and admit cards will be released later on the official portal.

National-Level Medical Entrance Test

NEET (UG) serves as the single national entrance examination for admission to undergraduate medical courses across the country. Scores from the exam are used for entry into MBBS, BDS and BVSc & AH programmes as per the rules of the respective regulatory authorities.

The exam also acts as the qualifying test for courses under Indian systems of medicine, including BAMS, BUMS, BSMS and BHMS, under the concerned national commissions.

Mandatory for Military Nursing Service Admissions

Candidates seeking admission to the BSc Nursing programme under the Military Nursing Service (MNS) at Armed Forces Medical Service hospitals must also qualify in NEET (UG). The entrance test score forms a key part of the selection process.

Application Fee Structure

The registration fee varies according to category:

General category: ₹1,700

General-EWS / OBC-NCL: ₹1,600

SC / ST / PwBD / Third Gender: ₹1,000

Candidates outside India: ₹9,500

Additional processing charges and applicable GST will also be levied.

Exam Languages and Application Guidelines

The examination will be held in 13 languages, including English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu.

Applicants must complete the process only through the official online portal and upload required documents such as a recent passport-size photograph, scanned signature and other necessary certificates. Authorities have advised candidates to carefully verify all details before final submission, as only one application form is permitted per applicant.
