NEW DELHI, Aug 25: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released the Round 1 seat allotment results for NEET UG 2026, giving medical aspirants the opportunity to proceed with admission at their allotted institutions.
The counselling process covers candidates seeking admission to undergraduate medical programmes through the national quota and other participating categories.
One of the notable changes introduced during this year’s counselling is an online resignation facility. Eligible candidates who decide not to retain their allotted seats can use the digital system to resign without making a separate physical visit to the concerned institution.
The measure is intended to simplify the admission process and reduce the administrative burden on students moving through successive counselling rounds.
Candidates who receive seats are required to follow the prescribed admission and verification procedures within the specified schedule. Those planning to participate in subsequent rounds must also carefully review the applicable rules before making decisions about their allotted seats.
The online system is expected to make the counselling process more convenient, particularly for students who may otherwise have to travel between cities for admission-related formalities.
The Round 1 allocation marks an important stage in the admission cycle, with candidates now required to complete the next steps within the deadlines announced by the counselling authorities.
