JAMMU: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta maintained that the BJP Government under PM Narendra Modi has given much needed thrust to the education sector by revolutionizing the entire set-up.
He was speaking after starting development works with an estimated cost of Rs 10 lakh at Government High School, Ward Nno 47, Qasim Nagar.
The BJP’s stalwart leader said that the National Education Policy (NEP) and Pradhan Mantri Schools For Rising India (PM-SHRI) Yojana have transformed the system and changed the contours of the education sector under the realms of Modi Government.
Talking specifically about PM-SHRI Yojana, Kavinder said that PM Modi has recently announced the development and upgradation of 14,500 schools across India under this scheme. He said that the same will prove to be a game changer as far as imparting education at schools is concerned. He said the Modi Government is laying stress on primary education, higher studies and also medical education to give the required push to the education sector which remained neglected under the long spans of successive Congress regimes.
At Government High School, Qasim Nagar, Kavinder found that the newly constructed classrooms in the school have not been handed over to the school management. He took up the matter with Regional Director Smagra Shiksha Deep Raj and apprised him about the matter who assured that the newly constructed classrooms will be handed over to the school management shortly.
Kavinder also interacted with the school staff who apprised Kavinder Gupta about the need of urinals for the students. He assured the school management that within one month the aforesaid work will be started.
Meanwhile, Kavinder also kick-started another development work at Ward No 3 Cantonment area in Gandhi Nagar constituency with an estimated cost of Rs 10 lakh. Vinay Gupta District President, Corporator Ward No 47 Sharda Kumari; Bharat Bhushan Vice Chairman Cantonment, Ex Councillor Jasmeet Kour Pandey and Narinder Koki accompanied the former deputy Chief Minister during the launch of aforesaid development works.
Among others who were present include Krishan Chander, Sunny Sangotra, Sanjeev Gupta, Kuldeep Kumar, Vivek Patyal, Ajay Sharma, Sajan Gupta, Hardesh Khokher, Dalbir Singh, Suraj Rana, Surinder, Dr Davinder Singh, Sushil Singh, Ashok Kumar Vaid, Waheeda Kousar, Neelam Kumari, Shaista Parveen and Chandan Kumar.
