04-08-2023 : In a manifestation of unwavering faith and devotion, a fresh batch of 1181 pilgrims embarked on the revered Amarnath Yatra from Bhagwati Nagar Base Camp in Jammu on Friday. Amidst the resonating chants of ‘Bam Bam Bhole,’ the pilgrims set forth on their spiritual journey to the sacred Shri Amarnath Cave Shrine nestled in the picturesque South Kashmir Himalayas.
The departure ceremony witnessed an air of profound devotion and enthusiasm as the pilgrims, comprising both men and women, Sadhus, and Sadhvis, joined the convoy of 46 vehicles. Among the participants, 706 pilgrims, including 570 males, 95 females, 35 Sadhus, and six Sadhvis, commenced their pilgrimage towards Pahalgam, guided by a convoy of 24 vehicles.
For the Baltal route, 475 pilgrims, consisting of 327 males, 138 females, and ten children, set off in a convoy of 22 vehicles. The commencement of the yatra took place under stringent security arrangements, ensuring the safety and smooth passage of the pilgrims throughout their sacred journey.
The annual Amarnath Yatra, which commenced on July 1, holds immense spiritual significance for devotees across the nation. The pilgrimage serves as an opportunity for thousands of devotees to pay homage to Lord Shiva in the form of the naturally formed ice Shivling inside the Amarnath Cave. The yatra, a testament to the enduring faith of millions, will continue until August 31, welcoming devotees from various walks of life to seek blessings and experience the divine aura of the Himalayan shrine.
