Karachi, Nov 20 : An 18 year old newlywed woman was found hanging on the roof of a residential building on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday, according to ARY News.
Police identified the victim as Zainab, who had recently moved from Sialkot to Karachi after her marriage. She had been staying at her husband’s maternal aunt’s home in the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) area. Authorities launched an investigation following a complaint filed by her father.
The incident comes at a time when Pakistan is witnessing a surge in violent episodes, particularly in Balochistan. Earlier this month, a wave of attacks across Kalat, Nasirabad, and Jhal Magsi districts left nine people dead and two others abducted, highlighting the region’s deteriorating security situation, as reported by Dawn.
In another attack, two men Muhammad Zafar and Muhammad Naeem were shot dead by motorcycle borne assailants in Panjgur’s Shpistan area. Their bodies were shifted to a local hospital, while authorities work to determine the motive behind the killing.
Violence also escalated in Nasirabad, where two excavator drivers were abducted near Rabi Canal Sufi Wah. The assailants fled the scene after leaving behind the heavy machinery. Security forces have since launched a major search operation to locate the missing workers.
Meanwhile, in Kachhi district, a man identified as Abdul Qadir Kurd was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Goth Misri Khan. And in Jhal Magsi, a land dispute between the Solangi and Wazdani Magsi tribes turned deadly, resulting in the death of Muhammad Bachal Magsi before authorities stepped in to restore order.
