BARAMULLA, Feb 2: The National Investigation Agency (NIA), assisted by local police, carried out multiple raids across north Kashmir on Monday as part of an ongoing probe, officials said.
In Bandipora, an NIA team, along with local police, conducted a search at the residence of a retired school teacher in Plan Bandipora. Sources confirmed that the teacher’s son is currently detained under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), and the search was related to the same investigation.
Separately, another raid was conducted at a residence in Mustafabad Gurdwara, following legal procedures. Meanwhile, NIA teams were also searching a government employee’s house in Zethan, Rafiabad, in Baramulla district. The employee works under the Agriculture Department, officials noted.
The raids were part of a coordinated operation across multiple locations, with teams examining documents and electronic devices. Officials stated that searches were ongoing at the time of reporting and that further updates would be provided as the investigation progresses. No new arrests were reported so far.
