NIA Raids Multiple Locations in J&K in ‘White-Collar Terror’ Network Probe

Searches in Pulwama, Shopian and Kulgam linked to Delhi Red Fort car blast case

SRINAGAR, Dec 1: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday conducted fresh raids across Pulwama, Shopian and Kulgam districts in connection with the white-collar terror module believed to be behind the deadly car blast near Delhi’s Red Fort, officials said.

Searches were carried out at the residence of Moulvi Irfan Ahmad Wagay in Shopian, identified as the alleged mastermind behind the radicalisation and recruitment of the module busted last month. Wagay was arrested in October and later taken into NIA custody after the agency assumed charge of the Red Fort blast investigation, which claimed 15 lives and left several others injured.

NIA teams also searched multiple locations in Pulwama including Koil, Chandgam, Malangpora and Samboora  all linked to suspects associated with the Delhi blast case.

In addition, the agency raided the residence of Dr. Adeel Ahmad Rather, arrested earlier in November from Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh.

Officials said further details of the searches and possible recoveries are awaited.
