New Delhi, Feb 18: Sundar Pichai reached the national capital on Wednesday to attend the Global AI Impact Summit 2026, where he is scheduled to deliver the keynote address on February 20.
Sharing his arrival on X, the Google CEO said he was delighted to return to India and praised the warm reception extended to him.
The summit, being held at Bharat Mandapam from February 16 to 20, has brought together policymakers, industry leaders, researchers, innovators and civil society representatives from across the globe to deliberate on the future of artificial intelligence.
In a related interaction with ANI, the Prime Minister highlighted the expanding role of AI in India’s technology ecosystem. He noted that the country’s IT industry, a major contributor to services exports, is poised for significant growth with AI-driven outsourcing and automation expected to propel the sector to an estimated $400 billion valuation by 2030.
Positioned as the first major global AI gathering hosted in the Global South, the event seeks to promote inclusive and responsible technological advancement. With participation from over 110 countries and around 30 international organisations including heads of state, government representatives and ministers the forum aims to deepen international cooperation on AI governance, safety and societal impact.
Guided by the foundational pillars of People, Planet and Progress, the summit underscores a human centric approach to innovation, environmentally responsible deployment of emerging technologies, and equitable economic transformation.
