Mumbai, Feb 10 : Nick Jonas shared on the Sach Sang Show that marrying Priyanka Chopra introduced him to a rich tapestry of Indian traditions, rituals, and festivals, which over time have become an integral part of his life. He described his first experience with her family and culture as “kind of magic,” highlighting the warmth of relatives, festive celebrations, and cultural immersion that made him feel a deep sense of belonging.
Embracing Hinduism and Its Values
Beyond surface level curiosity, Nick revealed that he has developed a profound respect for Hinduism. He called the faith “beautiful and meaningful,” citing concepts like karma treating others as you wish to be treated and dharma, which he says now guides his approach to life, responsibility, and relationships.
Raising Malti in a Multi-Faith Household
Nick and Priyanka are raising their daughter, Malti Marie, in a home that celebrates both Hindu and Christian traditions. He emphasized teaching Malti real Hindu values in a meaningful way while also honoring their Christian roots, aiming to provide a strong moral and emotional foundation through a multicultural upbringing.
Faith Evolving Through Life and Marriage
Reflecting on his own spiritual journey, Nick shared that religion played a significant role in his childhood, especially with a preacher father, but adulthood and marriage introduced him to new beliefs that reshaped his understanding. He notes that faith remains important but has evolved over the years.
A Wedding Reflecting Shared Respect
The couple’s December 2018 wedding included both Hindu and Christian ceremonies, symbolizing their mutual respect for each other’s beliefs. Since welcoming Malti in 2022 via surrogacy, Nick says their family life has been rooted in love, learning, and cultural balance.
