Bihar, Oct 28 : Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and Mahagathbandhan’s Chief Ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav has made a bold claim that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will not return to power after the upcoming Assembly elections.
In an interview with Hindustan Times, Tejashwi alleged that Nitish Kumar has “lost control over the administration” and is “not in good health.”
“He is not coming back. He will be finished after the polls,” Yadav said, adding that the NDA is unlikely to project Kumar as its CM face.
‘NDA won’t make Nitish CM again’
Tejashwi Yadav asserted that the BJP-led NDA has deliberately avoided naming Nitish Kumar as its chief ministerial candidate, suggesting internal uncertainty within the alliance.
“The NDA has still not declared their CM face, and that makes the picture clear. Nitish Kumar’s party will cease to exist after the polls,” Yadav claimed.
Mahagathbandhan declares Tejashwi as CM face
The remarks come shortly after the Opposition Mahagathbandhan officially declared Tejashwi Yadav as its Chief Ministerial face. Congress leader Ashok Gehlot confirmed the decision after consultations among INDIA bloc allies, including Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge.
Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) chief Mukesh Sahani was announced as the alliance’s deputy CM face.
‘No realignment with Nitish Kumar’
When asked about a possible future alliance with Nitish Kumar, Tejashwi ruled out any reconciliation.
“After the polls, JD(U) will be finished and will cease to exist. So, where is the question of any realignment?” he said.
Confident of victory
Tejashwi Yadav expressed confidence that the Mahagathbandhan will secure a clear majority in the two-phase Bihar elections scheduled for November 6 and 11, with results on November 14.
He alleged that “malpractices” in 2020 had prevented the alliance from forming the government, but this time, the Opposition is “fully vigilant.”
