No Evidence Against Parvez Yet in Red Fort Metro Blast Case, Hunt On for Missing Kashmiri IIT-Kanpur Scholars

Multi agency probe finds no actionable links to Parvez as investigators widen search for two missing Kashmiri PhD students amid expanding terror conspiracy

New Delhi, Nov 24 : As multiple intelligence and investigative agencies continue probing the November 10 suicide car blast near Delhi’s Red Fort Metro Station, official sources have confirmed that no evidence has surfaced against Parvez, who was earlier questioned in connection with the widening investigation.

The blast, which claimed 15 lives and injured several others, is believed to be part of a sophisticated, multilayered terror conspiracy involving foreign handlers, a structured funding network, and plans for coordinated attacks across multiple locations. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has already arrested several suspects, including Dr Mujammil Shakeel Ganaie, Dr Adil Ahmad Rather, Dr Shahin Saeed, and Mufti Irfan Ahmad Wagay.

Senior officials said Parvez came under preliminary scrutiny due to indirect associations, but an extensive review of digital records, communication logs, and financial trails has revealed nothing linking him to the conspiracy.

“At this stage, there is no actionable evidence that connects Parvez with the terror module,” a senior investigator said.

Officials added that questioning individuals with peripheral links is routine in large terror investigations which span multiple states and involve layered networks. With no incriminating material recovered, Parvez is not a suspect at this point, sources clarified.

Investigators are now concentrating on uncovering the international handler chain believed to have coordinated the attack. Agencies are tracking encrypted communication channels, digital footprints, and cross-border funding routes. The probe has also pointed to possible terror training abroad, procurement of weapons including an AK-47 bought for nearly ₹5 lakh, and the use of a deep freezer to stabilise explosive compounds.

Search for Two Missing IIT-Kanpur Scholars Intensifies

Meanwhile, probe agencies are also examining the unexplained disappearance of two Kashmiri PhD scholars from IIT Kanpur. One scholar has been missing since October 18, and the second vanished on November 10, the same day as the Red Fort blast. Their absence came to light during a government-mandated verification drive of Kashmiri students in Kanpur ordered after the attack.

Teams from UP Police, ATS, and central intelligence agencies have visited IIT Kanpur to check records, analyse campus movement logs, and speak with faculty and peers. Authorities are also assessing any potential links between the missing scholars and individuals arrested in the blast case, including Dr Shahin and Dr Parvez Ansari.

The IIT Kanpur administration stated that it has no information on the scholars’ whereabouts but is fully cooperating with investigators. Agencies are tracking their digital activity as the multi agency search expands across multiple states.
