No Pension Reduction, Says Saini Dismisses Claims as Misinformation

Chief Minister Labels Allegations as Politically Motivated, Highlights Tech-Driven Welfare Reforms

Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Tuesday assured the Assembly that there has been no reduction in pensions for senior citizens, dismissing recent claims as politically motivated misinformation. Addressing concerns during the ongoing budget session, he reiterated that protecting the dignity and financial security of the elderly remains a key priority for the state government.

Saini accused opposition leaders of deliberately spreading confusion regarding pension discontinuation. He described such rumours as irresponsible, especially when they affect a vulnerable section of society.

The Chief Minister underlined that the government has strengthened welfare delivery through a transparent, technology-based system. Pension amounts are now directly transferred to beneficiaries’ bank accounts, accompanied by real-time SMS notifications, allowing seamless access without repeated visits to government offices.

Contrasting the current system with the previous administration, Saini claimed that delays and procedural hurdles had earlier caused hardships for senior citizens. He emphasized that the reformed mechanism ensures accountability, efficiency, and timely disbursal of benefits.
