Jammu, Dec 5: Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, Northern Army Commander, visited troops in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir, to review operational readiness and evaluate the prevailing security situation, officials said.
During his visit to Haribudha, Lt Gen Sharma received detailed briefings on the security environment and ongoing counter terrorism operations. The assessment focused on enhanced surveillance, rapid response mechanisms, and advanced drills integrating technology and innovative tactics.
The Army Commander lauded the troops for their professional excellence, high preparedness, and dedication while operating in challenging terrain, highlighting their critical role in reinforcing the region’s security infrastructure.
The interaction also served to boost troop morale, underscoring the Indian Army’s commitment to maintaining peace and stability in Jammu and Kashmir, the Northern Command said in a statement on X.
