Assam, Nov 18 : The Odia music fraternity is in deep mourning after the Humane Sagar death shocked fans across the state. The popular playback singer passed away on Monday evening at the age of 36 while undergoing critical treatment at AIIMS Bhubaneswar. He had been admitted on November 14 in a serious condition, with doctors placing him on advanced life support as his health continued to deteriorate.
Cause of Humane Sagar’s Death
Doctors at AIIMS confirmed that Sagar was suffering from multiple life-threatening complications, including severe pneumonia, acute-on-chronic liver failure, cardiac issues, kidney dysfunction, and ultimately multi-organ failure. Despite continuous efforts from a team of specialists, his body did not respond to treatment.
He breathed his last at 9:08 pm on November 17, 2025, with the hospital describing his condition as “refractory shock” and medically irreversible.
Odisha Leaders Pay Heartfelt Tributes
News of the Humane Sagar death led to an outpouring of grief across Odisha. Chief Minister Mohan Majhi called his passing an “irreparable loss to Odisha’s music and cinema.”
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and BJP National Vice President Baijayant Panda also condoled the singer’s demise, describing the news as “shocking” and “heartbreaking.”
Humane Sagar: Early Life and Musical Journey
Born on November 25, 1990, in Titilagarh, Bolangir, Humane Sagar grew up in a family deeply rooted in music—his father and grandfather were both music directors.
His rise to fame began with Voice of Odisha Season 2 (2012), where he emerged as a standout performer. He made his playback singing debut in the 2015 film “Ishq Tu Hi Tu,” a major success that catapulted him into stardom.
Over the years, he became one of Ollywood’s most beloved voices, known for his emotional depth, versatility, and numerous hit songs.
