Jammu, 12 July 2025: Arun Prabhat, state president of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, along with hundreds of youth, held a massive protest march from Kachi Chawni and gheraoed the JKSSB head office in Jammu.
During his address, he cautioned the current Omar Abdullah-led state government against intense agitation if the discriminatory decision of imposing Urdu in Naib Tehsildar’s recruitment is not been taken back. It has been more than a month since the youth have been protesting on the roads, but there is no statement from the government or any competent authority.
This adamant attitude of the government depicts their policy of intentional exclusivity to a particular region. Omar Abdullah or his cabinet ministers who represent Jammu in the government have to break the silence and clear their stance on this discriminatory policy; otherwise, the next gherao will be of the Civil Secretariat and the chief minister’s residence. He described this recruitment as unconstitutional, as it violates the very core of fundamental rights of getting equal opportunity in public employment. How can the government justify itself by barring 70% of subjects from this naib tehsildar’s recruitment? Urdu in revenue matters and the NT exam in particular is a well-intended conspiracy to keep the Jammu division in darkness.
In his concluding remarks, he gave a call to all the aspirants and people of Jammu and Kashmir to come forward against this discriminatory recruitment policy of the NC-led government. Furthermore, he urged the aspirants of non-Urdu background to apply for the post of Naib Tehsildar’s recruitment, as the BJP will fight for their rights at any cost until justice is delivered.
