One Killed, Several Hurt in Bus Mishap at Sangaldan in Ramban

Rescue teams and locals launch immediate operation after bus turns turtle near Sangaldan on Gool road

Ramban, May 19: One person lost his life while several others sustained injuries after a passenger bus overturned near the Sangaldan area of Ramban district on Monday, officials said.

According to reports, the passenger bus bearing registration number JK02CU-7482 was travelling on the Gool-Sangaldan road when the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle near Sangaldan, causing it to turn turtle on the roadside.

In the tragic incident, one passenger died on the spot, while around 11 to 12 passengers were injured. Some of the injured were reported to have suffered minor to moderate injuries.

Soon after the accident, police personnel, rescue teams and local residents rushed to the spot and started rescue operations to evacuate the passengers trapped inside the overturned vehicle.

The injured were later shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment and necessary care. Hospital authorities are closely monitoring the condition of the injured passengers.

Officials said authorities have taken cognizance of the incident and an investigation has been initiated to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
