Kishtwar, Feb 23: Major General APS Bal, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Counter-Insurgency Force (CIF) Delta, on Monday highlighted that Operation Trashi-I exemplified perseverance, meticulous planning, clear vision, and the integrated efforts of Indian security forces in counter-terror operations.
Addressing reporters, Major General Bal praised the seamless collaboration among troops, co-commanders, ADGs, IGs, the DGP, and the Army Commander, saying, “This operation demonstrates the relentless efforts and coordination at every level, from ground troops to senior commanders, which decisively contributed to its success.”
He also acknowledged the critical support infrastructure that enabled the operation, including supplies and logistics that facilitated reaching terrorist hideouts. Major General Bal stated that the police are fully aware of the support networks involved and will take appropriate action.
“The execution was calm, composed, collective, and collaborative, which allowed us to achieve success without any troop casualties, except for our brave dog Tyson, who initiated the operation,” he added.
On ongoing counter-terror efforts, Major General Bal confirmed that six Jaish-e-Mohammed (JEM) terrorists were neutralised in February, including operations in Udampur and Kishtwar. He emphasized that security forces will continue to eliminate terrorist threats in the region.
