Oppn seeks a JPC probe of the Adani Hindenburg Report

New Delhi, Feb 2: In response to the Hindenburg report on Adani Enterprises, the opposition has called for a Joint Parliamentary Committee investigation. According to opposition leader Mallikarjun Kharge, we would bring up the motion in Parliament and urge that the Joint Parliamentary Committee look into the matter. We demand that an investigation into the alleged irregularities be conducted by a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC).

The opposition on Thursday alleged that the proceedings of both Houses of Parliament were adjourned to stop them from raising the Adani issue.

Jairam Ramesh, Congress General Secretary said, Both Houses of Parliament adjourned today till 2 pm because Govt. did not agree to the combined Opposition demand for an investigation into forced investments by LIC, SBI & other public institutions that have lost huge value in recent days endangering savings of crores of Indians.

Sloganeering resulted when Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar rejected the suspension notices of nine members, including the leader of the opposition, Mallikarjun Kharge.

The Chairman rejected the notice by stating that it was out of order and citing the December 8 ruling on the acceptance and rejection of Rule 267 notices, which is used to halt business.
