01-09-2023 : The second day of the INDIA bloc meeting concluded with a significant resolution for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections: the opposition leaders affirmed their commitment to contest together “as far as possible.” Following this pivotal decision, a joint statement was released by the INDIA alliance parties to highlight their collective goals and strategies.
One of the key aspects discussed was the seat-sharing arrangements in various states, with an emphasis on initiating and concluding these arrangements promptly. The spirit of collaboration and mutual compromise was evident in the statement, showcasing the unity of purpose among the INDIA parties.
The joint statement also outlined a coordinated approach to communications, media strategies, and campaign themes. The chosen theme, “Judega Bharat, Jiteega India,” will be expressed in different languages to resonate with diverse audiences across the nation.
To ensure effective coordination and planning, a coordination committee was formed, consisting of senior leaders such as Sharad Pawar, K.C. Venugopal, Hemant Soren, and Tejashwi Yadav, among others.
Amidst these political developments, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge criticized the BJP-led central government for what he described as “vendetta politics.” He expressed concerns about the communal divide and hate crimes, as well as the alleged economic coercion of investors to favor BJP-ruled states. As part of the INDIA alliance’s organizational structure, several committees were formed to address various aspects of the election campaign:
