Los Angeles, Aug 27: The upcoming survival thriller ‘Reset’, starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas, has been thrown into uncertainty after actor Orlando Bloom reportedly exited the project shortly before filming was scheduled to begin.
The film had generated interest after Chopra and Bloom were announced as the leading stars. However, Bloom’s departure has forced the production team to reassess its plans, including the casting of his role.
The project has already experienced changes behind the camera. Director Matt Smukler was replaced by James Madigan, who has previously worked on major productions as a visual-effects specialist and filmmaker.
The latest development could push the production schedule into the following year as the makers work through the changes. Discussions are reportedly underway over whether Bloom’s part will be recast.
‘Reset’ is being developed as an independent survival thriller and was expected to bring Chopra into a physically demanding genre. The film’s future remains under close watch as the team works to stabilise the production following the latest changes.
Neither the film’s financiers nor the principal cast have publicly provided detailed comments on the reported disruption.
