Jammu, 14-07-2023 : Padmashree VishavMurti Shastri, a respected figure, paid a visit to the langar (community kitchen) of the Shri Amarnathji Yatra Welfare Society (SAYWS) today. The langar is situated opposite Vaishnavi Dham at the Railway Station, where it serves the pilgrims embarking on the Shri Amarnathji Yatra. During his visit, Shastri ji interacted with the pilgrims and assessed the facilities provided to them. The langar commenced its operations with the recitation of the Shiva Mantra, setting a spiritually charged atmosphere.
In a heartwarming gesture, Padmashree Vishav Murti Shastri joined other devotees in serving langar to the pilgrims. His presence and active involvement in the langar activities served as an inspiration to all. Shastri ji lauded the services being offered by SAYWS, recognizing their commitment to serving the pilgrims and ensuring their well-being throughout the yatra.
As a token of appreciation, the office bearers of SAYWS honored Padmashree Vishav Murti Shastri and presented him with a photograph of the naturally formed Ice-Lingam of Baba Amarnathji. This gesture demonstrated their gratitude and respect for Shastri ji’s visit and his support for their noble cause. The photograph symbolized the sanctity and spiritual significance associated with the Amarnathji Yatra.
During the visit, Sh Hasan Nadeem, Managing Director of CVPP (Chenab Valley Power Projects), Sh Sandeep Mittal, General Manager of CVPP, and Sh Rajesh Chopra, the Langar Sewa Organiser, accompanied Padmashree Vishav Murti Shastri. Their presence added to the significance of the occasion and showcased the collective effort in providing essential services to the pilgrims.
Sh Kiran Wattal, President of SAYWS, expressed his gratitude to all the guests for their visit and took the opportunity to provide a brief overview of the society’s activities. This allowed Shastri ji and the other attendees to understand the scope and impact of SAYWS’s initiatives in catering to the needs of the pilgrims.
Sh Anil Gupta, Senior Vice President of SAYWS, emphasized the society’s utmost attention to cleanliness at the langar. He highlighted that packaged drinking water bottles were provided to the pilgrims, ensuring their well-being and hydration during the yatra. Gupta also mentioned that SAYWS solely relied on the support of its dedicated office bearers to run the langar, without any external contributions. This self-sustained approach showcased their commitment to serving the pilgrims and their determination to provide essential facilities throughout the yatra.
It was further revealed that the SAYWS venue serves langar to approximately 3,000 to 4,000 pilgrims on a daily basis. This significant number underscores the magnitude of their efforts in catering to the needs of the pilgrims and ensuring their nourishment during their spiritual journey.
The event witnessed the presence of notable personalities, including Rajesh Gupta, the head of the Tourism Federation of Jammu, Anil Gupta, the Senior Vice President of SAYWS, M. K. Yogi, the General Secretary of VKS, and Prem Ji and Kamal Ganjoo. Their attendance and participation in the event demonstrated their support for SAYWS’s initiatives and their commitment to promoting a seamless and fulfilling yatra experience for the pilgrims.
