MeT Department outlines short rain spells, largely dry conditions ahead, farmers advised to continue agricultural activities

SRINAGAR, Apr 11: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar on Saturday projected a mix of cloudy conditions and brief light rainfall across parts of Jammu and Kashmir in the coming days.

Director of the Meteorological Department, Dr Mukhtar Ahmad, said that April 11 will witness partly to generally cloudy skies, with chances of short spells of light rain at scattered locations, mainly during afternoon or evening hours.

He noted that April 12 is likely to remain mostly dry, though isolated areas may experience brief light showers later in the day. From April 13 to 15, weather conditions are expected to stay largely stable and dry across the Union Territory.

However, a shift is anticipated between April 16 and 17, when cloudy skies may dominate, accompanied by light rain or thundershowers at scattered places, particularly during late afternoon or evening.

Looking further ahead, the weather is expected to stabilise again, with dry conditions prevailing from April 18 to 22.

In view of the forecast, the MeT department has encouraged farmers to proceed with routine agricultural operations without major weather-related disruptions.
