Passenger Arrested Under NDPS Act During Early Morning Check in Sunderbani, J&K

Police recover 4 grams of suspected chitta; FIR registered under NDPS Act for further investigation

Rajouri, Jan 3: Police arrested a man and recovered a narcotic substance during a routine vehicle check in the Sunderbani area of Rajouri district on Saturday morning.

Officials said a team from Police Station Sunderbani was conducting checks at GV Police Naka near ITI College when a tempo bearing registration number PB01D-8780, traveling from Jammu to Rajouri, was intercepted for inspection.

During frisking, police recovered approximately four grams of a narcotic substance resembling chitta from one passenger. The accused has been identified as Skander Shah, son of Manawar Hussain Shah, a resident of Dharaj, Tehsil Kotranka (Kandi), District Rajouri.

Skander Shah was taken into custody immediately, and the seized substance was recorded and processed according to legal procedures. A case (FIR No. 1/2026) under Sections 8, 21, and 22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Sunderbani, with investigations underway to trace the source and possible links of the contraband.
