SRINAGAR, Aug 19: The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) announced on Monday that it has finalized the list of constituency in-charges in preparation for the upcoming Assembly elections scheduled to begin on September 18 this year.
According to the party’s official statement, Abdul Rehman Veeri has been appointed to oversee the Anantnag East constituency, while Sartaj Ahmad Madani has been assigned responsibility for the Devsar constituency. Dr. Mehboob Beg will take charge of Anantnag, and Gh. Nabi Lone Hanjura has been given the responsibility for Char-i-Shareef.
Notably, the list includes a surprise appointment, with Mehbooba Mufti’s daughter, Iltija Mufti, named as the in-charge for Bijbehara, a constituency regarded as the party’s stronghold in South Kashmir.
Additionally, Gh. Mohi-ud-din Wani has been tasked with overseeing Watchi, Waheed-ur-Rehman will be responsible for Pulwama, and Rafiq Ahmad Naik has been assigned to Tral.
