Peace in J&K Came at a Price, Forces Will Eliminate Any Threat to It: LG Sinha

LG Manoj Sinha credits J&K Police, Army and CAPFs for securing stability; honours sportspersons at All India Police Kabaddi Cluster closing ceremony

Jammu, March 12: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday said the prevailing peace in Jammu and Kashmir has been achieved through immense sacrifices by security forces, warning that any attempt to disturb the situation would be dealt with firmly.

Addressing the closing ceremony of the 2nd All India Police Kabaddi Cluster 2025-26 in Jammu, Sinha said the stability seen across the region today was the result of the dedication and courage of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, the Indian Army and the Central Armed Police Forces.

He said thousands of personnel from the security forces laid down their lives while protecting the people of the Union Territory, and their sacrifices must be remembered by ensuring that peace and normalcy are preserved.

Sinha issued a strong message to elements trying to create unrest, stating that those attempting to destabilise the region would face decisive action from the security forces.

During the event, the lieutenant governor felicitated athletes representing various state police organisations and central forces who competed in disciplines such as kabaddi, gymnastics, fencing and kho-kho. He said sports have a unique ability to bring people together, as differences of language, geography, rank and background disappear on the playing field where only determination and teamwork matter.

Sinha also lauded the community outreach initiatives of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, particularly its civic action programmes aimed at engaging and mentoring young people across the region.

On the occasion, he congratulated the Jammu and Kashmir cricket team for winning their first-ever Ranji Trophy title and released an e-souvenir marking the successful conduct of the 2nd All India Police Kabaddi Cluster 2025-26.
