People are pinning their hopes on “I.N.D.I.A”: Sahni

JAMMU,30-08-2023: The Shiv Sena (UBT) J&K unit today appealed for the inclusion of a delegation to represent and address the prevailing conditions of Jammu and Kashmir in the forthcoming ‘INDIA’ alliance meeting scheduled for August 31st in Mumbai.
Addressing a press conference held at the Party’s State Headquarters in Jammu, Manish Sahni, State President, Shiv Sena J&K today revealed that a written request has been forwarded to the central leadership, including the chief components and party head, Uddhav Thackeray. The appeal calls for the ‘INDIA’ alliance’s representation to visit Jammu-Kashmir to discuss and assess the local circumstances of Jammu-Kashmir and advocate for the restoration of democratic processes, the reinstatement of statehood, protection of the rights of the locals, the safe return of Kashmiri Pandits, and the reservation of seats for displaced people in the state assembly.
Sahni expressed that the lack of a conducive environment in the state has hindered the implementation of democratic processes. He further highlighted that the assurance of reinstating statehood, made from the legislative podium, has yet to materialize. He emphasized the erosion of the rights of the sons of the soil and the prolonged wait of Kashmiri Pandits for a secure return to the valley.
Sahni also pointed out the unfulfilled promises to the POJK displaced persons.
Sahni remarked that the BJP’s governance has not lived up to the cultural identity of the region. The erosion of the rights of the people and the presence of terrorism have escalated, leading to a sense of insecurity. The youth, struggling with unemployment, have fallen victim to substance abuse, and the alarming rise in crime rates has instilled fear.
He asserted that the people of the region are disillusioned with the empty promises of the BJP and are looking to the ‘INDIA’ alliance with renewed hope.
On this occasion, Vice President Sanjeev Kohli was also present.
