People’s sufferings increased manifold in absence of popular Govt: Jan

Asks workers to gear-up for upcoming Panchayat, ULB elections

POONCH: 26 April. People’s sufferings have increased manifold in absence of popular or duly elected representative Government in Jammu and Kashmir and it is an irony that there are no takers of people’s basic issues in the Administration.
This was observed by Ajaz Jan, Provincial President Youth National Conference Jammu and senior NC leader while addressing Core Committee meeting of JKNC at district Poonch. The meeting was conducted under the Chairmanship of Haji Bhag Hussain Rathore, District President National Conference Poonnch in which Core Committee of party workers of JKNC and JKYNC Poonch Block took part.

The senior NC leader said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are fed-up with lies, riddle policies and misrule of BJP. He said that by not allowing the Assembly elections to take place in J&K were the most blatant violation of the Constitution of India by the incumbent Government at the Centre.

Jan asserted that in J&K, the people continue to suffer badly in absence of the popular government. The bureaucratic rule has failed to address the burning issues of the people and the Govt must ensure that elections are held in the state at the earliest, he added.

Earlier, the participants expressed displeasure against the government contrary to the claims of development but unfortunately no development was seen on ground.
Ajaz Jan said the J&K government has failed on event front. He said that the people are being subjected to face discrimination on every font and they were deprived of basic amenities.

“At present, no ration was available, substandard work being carried out especially blacktopping work of roads in the entire District. The blacktopping works has completed within just one month which seems to be totally sub standard and openly fraud with the public,” he said.

Jan said that every section is troubled at this time whether he is a businessman, employee, contractor, youth or senior citizen. People in Panchayats are not getting funds under MGNREGA, payment of contractors pending since 2019, he said. He asserted that the government has failed to provide salary /honorarium to Panchs and Sarpanchs.

The people residing in rural areas are facing step motherly treatment of government. They are not getting regular power and water supply, he added.

Jan said that the government is afraid of holding Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir as the present government knows very well that the people of Jammu and Kashmir will answer it the way they have been treated in the upcoming elections which is the main reason that the government is not ready to conduct elections.

The senior NC leader exhorted upon the party workers to get ready for the upcoming Panchayat and ULC elections in Jammu and Kashmir and make all possible efforts in making people aware about the achievements of National Conference.
