Pile of public issues – Omar government should fulfill promises: Shiv Sena

Demand to fulfill promises like minimum wage, regularization of daily wagers, 200 units of free electricity, etc.
Jammu,21-01-2025: Shiv Sena (UBT) Jammu-Kashmir unit has expressed disappointment over no discussion and decision on public issues and fulfillment of promises in the recently concluded cabinet meeting. Along with this, it has demanded to put pressure on the central government for the demand of restoration of state status and to declare Jammu as the permanent capital of the state.
In a press conference held today at the party’s state central office, state president Manish Sahni accused the Omar government of not fulfilling their promises. In the cabinet meeting held on January 20, no discussion or decision was taken, like regularization of daily wagers, implementation of the minimum wage, and fulfillment of the promises of 200 units of free electricity, clean drinking water, etc.  The demand for restoration of statehood has also been put on cold bag. During the tenure of the government till now, the Chief Minister has not done anything special except official visits to Delhi and the ministers have not done anything special except official visits to various departments. Sahni said that the expectations of the public are turning into disappointment. He demands that the Omar Abdullah government immediately fulfill the promises of giving minimum daily wages fixed by the Central Government to the cooks, Asha workers, etc. posted in Anganwadi, government schools, regularization of daily wage laborers posted in various departments, 200 units of free electricity and drinking water, an increase in the old age and widow pension, 12 free LPG cylinders, etc. Along with this, a demand was made to allocate a separate budget amount for the tourist places of Jammu division which is yearning for development, and to declare Jammu as the permanent capital of the state.
