PM Modi Accuses Congress of Regressive Intentions in Madhya Pradesh: A Critique of Past Governance

25-09-2023 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing the BJP’s Karyakarta Mahakumbh at Jamboree Ground in the capital of Madhya Pradesh, accused the Congress of attempting to regress the state back to the 20th century. He asserted that during the Congress’s rule, the state suffered from poor governance characterized by flawed policies, ineffective administration, and widespread corruption.

In his speech, which lasted approximately 50 minutes and was delivered in a conversational style, the Prime Minister posed several rhetorical questions and highlighted the achievements of the Central government. He emphasized progress in poverty alleviation, agriculture, healthcare, education, banking, investment, housing, water supply, participation in G20 initiatives, and the nation’s response to the pandemic.

Prior to his address, Prime Minister Modi arrived at the venue in an open vehicle, accompanied by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and BJP state President Vishnu Datt Sharma. This event marked the culmination of the saffron party’s Jan Ashirwad Yatras, which covered nearly all 230 Assembly constituencies in the state. In response, the principal opposition party, Congress, organized Jan Aakrosh Yatras.

Over the past six months, the Prime Minister has made numerous visits to Madhya Pradesh, underlining the state’s significance in the political landscape. During his address, he also criticized the Congress for misleading the public with false claims about loan waivers and the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, suggesting that funds would be withdrawn after the elections.
