PM Modi Accuses Congress of Trying to Pass Law Protecting Infiltrators in Assam

Prime Minister warns voters that only BJP can protect Assam’s identity and implement key reforms.

GOGAMUKH (ASSAM), Apr 1: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday accused the Congress of intending to introduce legislation that would protect infiltrators in Assam if the party comes to power. Speaking at a rally in Gogamukh, Dhemaji district, Modi said the BJP and its allies would not allow such a move.

“Congress’ strategy is to reduce the majority community to a minority and create a permanent vote bank of infiltrators,” the Prime Minister asserted. He added that Congress leaders are openly supporting measures to shield infiltrators and undermining Assam’s demographic balance.

Modi also drew parallels with historical events, alleging that the Congress is attempting to divide the country similar to the Muslim League during Partition and has compromised the Constitution drafted by Babasaheb Ambedkar.

Highlighting the BJP’s agenda, Modi emphasized that a renewed BJP government would implement the Uniform Civil Code and protect tribal communities under the Sixth Schedule, thereby safeguarding Assam’s unique identity.

Reflecting on the past decade, the Prime Minister said, “BJP’s 10-year governance in Assam brought a new era of service and good administration,” adding that modern infrastructure projects were successfully undertaken under the NDA.

He concluded with a confident prediction for the upcoming elections: “The BJP is poised to achieve a hat-trick in Assam, while Congress faces a century of electoral defeats.”
