New Delhi, Jan 28 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday expressed deep shock over the untimely death of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, who died in a plane crash near Baramati in Pune district. Pawar, 66, and four others were killed when the aircraft carrying them crashed on Wednesday morning, officials said.

In a post on X, PM Modi described Ajit Pawar as a leader with a strong connection to the grassroots and praised his dedication to public service. He highlighted Pawar’s administrative acumen and his commitment to empowering the poor and marginalized sections of society.

“His untimely demise is very shocking and saddening. Condolences to his family and countless admirers. Om Shanti,” Modi wrote, acknowledging the profound loss felt by the people of Maharashtra.
