India, Oct 24 : As India prepares to celebrate the sacred festival of Chhath, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday urged citizens to embrace the spirit of devotion and cultural unity by sharing songs dedicated to Chhathi Maiya. The festival, rooted in the worship of nature and cultural tradition, is being enthusiastically observed across Bihar and other parts of the country.
Chhath Puja, one of India’s oldest and most revered festivals, honors the Sun God and Chhathi Maiya, seeking blessings for health, prosperity, and well being. Its rituals, carried out over four days, reflect deep respect for nature and environmental harmony.
In a message shared on X, PM Modi lauded the devotion of Chhath participants and highlighted the significance of devotional songs in enhancing the festival’s spiritual essence.
He said, “The grand festival dedicated to nature and culture, Chhath, is approaching. Devotees across the country, including Bihar, have whole-heartedly engaged in its preparations with deep devotion. The songs of Chhathi Maiya add to the grandeur and divinity of this sacred occasion. I request you to share with me the songs related to Chhath Puja. I will share them with all the citizens of the country over the next few days.”
Through this initiative, the Prime Minister aims to unite people across India, celebrating shared cultural values and the timeless traditions of Chhath, while fostering a spirit of reverence for nature and collective devotion.
