PM Modi Confident of NDA Win in Bihar, Hails Karpoori Thakur’s Legacy

Prime Minister hails Karpoori Thakur’s legacy of social justice while projecting NDA’s development agenda ahead of Bihar Assembly polls.

Delhi, Oct 24: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday expressed confidence that the people of Bihar are set to elect the NDA government once again, promising a new phase of development, welfare, and good governance in the state.

Addressing a public rally in Samastipur, Modi said, “The grand festival of democracy has begun. Bihar is saying once again an NDA government, once again a government committed to good governance.” Highlighting the festive yet enthusiastic atmosphere in Mithila, he noted that the public sentiment strongly favors progress and rejects the opposition’s “jungle raj.”

Before the rally, Modi visited Karpoori Gram to pay homage to Bharat Ratna Jananayak Karpoori Thakur, calling him a true champion of social justice. “It is because of the blessings of leaders like him that people from humble backgrounds can stand on this stage today,” he said.

Modi lauded Thakur’s role in empowering poor and backward communities, stating that the NDA government draws inspiration from him to prioritize welfare for the deprived, backward, and marginalized sections. The Prime Minister also highlighted achievements such as 10% reservation for the poor in the general category and extended reservation for Scheduled Castes and Tribes for another decade.

Taking a swipe at opposition leaders, Modi said, “These are people out on bail in scams worth thousands of crores. Their habit of theft is such that now they are even trying to steal the title of Jananayak. Bihar will never tolerate any insult to Karpoori Thakur’s legacy.”

Modi expressed confidence that under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s leadership, the NDA will secure a historic mandate in the upcoming elections. “This time, Bihar will break all previous records and give the NDA its biggest victory ever,” he said.

The Bihar Legislative Assembly elections are scheduled for 6 and 11 November 2025, with results to be declared on 14 November 2025.
