NEW DELHI, Oct 23: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday extended his warm greetings to citizens on the occasion of Bhai Dooj, a festival symbolizing the sacred bond between brothers and sisters.

In a message shared on his social media platform X, the Prime Minister said, “On this auspicious day of Bhai Dooj, I extend my heartfelt greetings to everyone. May this festival, which celebrates the love and trust shared between siblings, fill your lives with happiness, prosperity, and good fortune. Let the cherished bond between brothers and sisters grow even stronger.”

Celebrated on the second day of Shukla Paksha in the month of Kartika, Bhai Dooj marks the conclusion of the Diwali festivities. Across India, the day is observed with devotion as sisters apply a ceremonial tilak on their brothers’ foreheads, praying for their health and longevity, while brothers offer gifts in return as tokens of affection.
