New Delhi, Feb 20 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday extended Statehood Day greetings to the people of Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh, commending their rich traditions, scenic landscapes and growing contribution to national progress.
In a message shared on X, the Prime Minister described Mizoram as a state known for its striking natural beauty and vibrant cultural legacy. He highlighted the strong community spirit and enduring traditions of the Mizo people, expressing hope that the state continues to achieve new milestones in its development journey.
Mizoram attained statehood in 1987 and is recognised for its lush hills, festivals and close-knit social fabric rooted in shared values.
In a separate message, the Prime Minister conveyed warm wishes to the people of Arunachal Pradesh, praising its majestic terrain and extraordinary cultural diversity. He noted that the state’s tribal heritage and industrious citizens play a significant role in strengthening the nation’s growth.
Arunachal Pradesh, which also became a state in 1987, is known for its mountainous landscape, vibrant tribal cultures and strategic importance in India’s northeast.
The Prime Minister’s greetings underscore the Centre’s emphasis on balanced development and preservation of cultural identity across the northeastern region.
