Dhar (Madhya Pradesh), Sep 17: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday hailed the courage of Indian soldiers, stating that they brought Pakistan “to its knees in the blink of an eye” during Operation Sindoor.
He made the remarks while addressing a public gathering after laying the foundation stone of the Pradhan Mantri Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) Park in Dhar district. Modi also launched two key initiatives—‘Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar’ and the ‘8th Rashtriya Poshan Maah’aimed at strengthening women’s health services and promoting nutrition.
The visit marked Modi’s second trip to Madhya Pradesh on his birthday. On this day in 2022, he had released eight cheetahs from Namibia in Kuno National Park.
Calling for greater self-reliance, the Prime Minister urged citizens to embrace the spirit of swadeshi during the festive season. “Whatever you buy should be made in India, carrying the sweat of our people and the fragrance of our soil,” he said.
Paying tribute to India’s armed forces, Modi emphasized the importance of national security. “Terrorists from Pakistan attempted to tarnish the dignity of our daughters and sisters. Through Operation Sindoor, our brave soldiers destroyed the terror launch pads and brought Pakistan to its knees,” he said.
He also recalled September 17, 1948, when Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s decisive leadership led to the liberation of Hyderabad. “Today, this day is observed as Hyderabad Liberation Day, with grand celebrations in Hyderabad,” he added.
The Prime Minister, who turned 75, also accepted greetings from the gathering during the event in Dhar district.
