New semi high speed trains to boost connectivity, tourism, and economic activity across key routes in India.

VARANASI (UP), Nov 8: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated four new Vande Bharat Express trains from Banaras railway station, expanding the country’s semi high speed rail network.

The newly flagged off trains will operate on the Banaras-Khajuraho, Lucknow-Saharanpur, Firozpur-Delhi, and Ernakulam-Bengaluru routes. According to officials, these trains will significantly reduce travel time between major stations, enhance regional connectivity, promote tourism, and support economic activity nationwide.

The Banaras Khajuraho Vande Bharat will link prominent cultural and religious destinations, including Varanasi, Prayagraj, and Chitrakoot, further strengthening access to India’s heritage hubs.

Officials emphasized that the addition of these trains marks another milestone in India’s efforts to modernize its rail network while offering faster, safer, and more comfortable travel options for passengers.
