NAVA RAIPUR (Chhattisgarh), Nov 1: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday reaffirmed India’s growing role as a global humanitarian force, saying the country has always been the first responder during any international crisis or disaster, providing timely aid and support across the world.
Speaking after inaugurating the Shanti Shikhar Centre for Spiritual Learning and Meditation of the Brahma Kumaris in Nava Raipur, Modi said India’s ethos of compassion and service is deeply rooted in its cultural and spiritual traditions.
“Whenever a crisis arises anywhere in the world, whenever a disaster strikes, India steps forward as a reliable partner to help. India is always the first responder,” the Prime Minister said.
He added that the government’s guiding principle remains “nation’s development through states’ development,” underscoring the ongoing Viksit Bharat mission to make India a developed nation by 2047.
“We are those who see Shiva in every living being. Every religious ritual in our tradition ends with the prayer‘may the world prosper and goodwill prevail among all beings,’” he noted, linking India’s humanitarian outreach to its spiritual philosophy.
Modi lauded institutions like the Brahma Kumaris for their contribution to national transformation through spirituality and values-based education.
“In this crucial journey towards a developed India, organisations like Brahma Kumaris have a vital role. I have been associated with all of you for decades; I am not a guest here, I am one of you,” he said.
Marking the 25th foundation day of Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Uttarakhand, the Prime Minister extended greetings to the residents of all three states and praised their contributions to India’s progress.
Earlier in the day, Modi interacted with 2,500 children treated for congenital heart diseases at the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital under the Gift of Life initiative, in the presence of former India cricket captain Sunil Gavaskar.
Later, the Prime Minister will attend the Chhattisgarh Rajat Mahotsav celebrating 25 years of the state’s formation, where he will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for developmental projects worth Rs 14,260 crore across key sectors including roads, industry, healthcare, and energy.
