PM Modi Marks Veer Baal Diwas, Pays Tribute to the Brave Sahibzades’ Sacrifice

Nation remembers the bravery and martyrdom of Sahibzades Baba Zorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh

NEW DELHI, Dec 26: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday observed ‘Veer Baal Diwas,’ a day dedicated to honoring the extraordinary courage and sacrifice of the Sahibzades, the sons of Sri Guru Gobind Singh.

Announced on the birth anniversary of Sri Guru Gobind Singh on January 9, 2022, the day commemorates the martyrdom of Baba Zorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh, whose steadfast faith and ultimate sacrifice continue to inspire generations.

“Veer Baal Diwas is a day of reverence, dedicated to remembering the sacrifice of the brave Sahibzades. We recall the unshakeable faith of Mata Gujri Ji and the immortal teachings of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji,” PM Modi said in a post on X. He added that the day symbolizes courage, conviction, and righteousness, and that the ideals of the young martyrs will motivate generations to come.

The Prime Minister will also address a special event on the occasion in New Delhi.

Across India, the Government of India is organizing participative programs to educate citizens about the valor and supreme sacrifice of the Sahibzades. Activities include storytelling sessions, recitations, poster-making, and essay-writing competitions, aimed at inspiring young minds through the legacy of India’s young heroes.
