Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday highlighted Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia’s write-up on BSNL’s impressive 4G achievements, calling it a symbol of India’s “Swadeshi spirit.”
Scindia’s write up emphasizes how BSNL’s indigenously developed 4G network reflects India’s journey from dependence to technological self-reliance. With over 92,000 sites now connecting 22 million citizens, the rollout has significantly enhanced digital access, particularly in remote areas.
“Under the leadership of PM Shri Narendra Modi ji, BSNL has emerged as a beacon of Swadeshi spirit and a symbol of India’s rise as a global telecom leader,” Scindia tweeted. He highlighted the network’s role in empowering first time digital users, generating local employment, boosting exports, and supporting fiscal revival.
PM Modi echoed these sentiments on social media, noting that BSNL’s 4G stack exemplifies India’s capability to deploy cutting-edge technology while advancing the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
The government’s push for self-reliance across sectors has seen tangible results in telecommunications, with BSNL’s 4G rollout standing out as a landmark achievement. By reducing dependence on foreign technology and strengthening domestic expertise, the initiative is helping India assert its place as a global technology leader.
