NEW DELHI, Jun 10: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on completing 12 years in office, describing the period as one of transformative governance that strengthened India’s confidence, enhanced national security and accelerated institutional reforms.
In a message posted on X, Shah said Modi’s leadership had ushered in a new era marked by cultural revival, governance reforms and efforts to overcome colonial-era legacies. He also congratulated the Prime Minister on becoming the longest-serving democratically elected Prime Minister in India’s history.
Highlighting major milestones achieved during the period, Shah pointed to the construction of the new Parliament building, implementation of three new criminal laws, rollout of the National Education Policy and expansion of opportunities for medical and engineering education in Indian languages.
He said the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat had evolved into a nationwide movement, encouraging self-reliance and strengthening India’s economic and strategic capabilities.
The Home Minister also cited key political and security developments, including the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, intensified action against Naxalism and a firm response to terrorism. According to Shah, these measures contributed to a stronger and more secure nation.
Emphasising the broader impact of the government’s initiatives, Shah said the past decade witnessed a renewed appreciation of India’s heritage, culture and achievements, helping citizens embrace greater confidence in the country’s future.
He credited Prime Minister Modi with reinforcing border security, improving national resilience and elevating India’s standing in international affairs.
“Ensuring citizens’ security while instilling confidence and pride in the nation’s achievements stands among the most significant accomplishments of Modi ji’s leadership,” Shah said.
He added that India today is asserting itself with confidence on global platforms, reflecting the emergence of a stronger, more capable and influential nation.
