New Delhi, Feb 25: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a two day visit to Israel on Wednesday, underscoring what he described as a robust and multifaceted strategic partnership between the two nations.
In his departure statement, Modi said he looks forward to meeting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to further expand cooperation across key sectors. He expressed confidence that the visit would strengthen enduring ties and chart new directions for bilateral engagement.
Discussions are expected to cover areas including science and technology, innovation, agriculture, water management, defence and security, trade, investment, and people to people exchanges. The leaders will also review regional and global developments of shared interest.
During the visit, Modi is scheduled to meet Israeli President Isaac Herzog and will become the first Indian Prime Minister to address the Israeli Parliament, the Knesset. He also plans to interact with members of the Indian diaspora, acknowledging their role in fostering closer relations between the two countries.
