New Delhi, Feb 23 : Narendra Modi on Monday said the international community “wholeheartedly praised” India’s technological capabilities during the recently concluded AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi.
In a message posted on X, the Prime Minister stated that the recognition reflects the strength and mindset of India’s young innovators, adding that their contributions would benefit humanity at large.
New Delhi Declaration Adopted
The summit concluded with the adoption of the New Delhi Declaration on AI Impact, which was endorsed by 89 countries and international organisations. The document aims to strengthen global cooperation in harnessing artificial intelligence for economic development and social welfare.
The event was held under the theme ‘Sarvajan Hitay, Sarvajan Sukhay’ (Welfare for all, happiness of all), positioning India as a key player in shaping ethical and inclusive AI frameworks.
Global Participation
Several world leaders attended the gathering, including Antonio Guterres, Emmanuel Macron, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and Guy Parmelin. Heads of state and government from Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Mauritius, Croatia, Serbia, Seychelles, Estonia and Finland were also present.
The summit drew more than 500 global AI stakeholders, including top executives, startup founders, researchers, technologists, philanthropists and government representatives. Around 60 ministers and vice ministers participated in discussions focused on innovation, governance and sustainable growth.
The high-level engagement underscored India’s ambition to play a leading role in steering artificial intelligence toward inclusive progress and global cooperation.
