PM Modi Slams RJD Congress Alliance in Muzaffarpur, Says ‘Their Ties Are Like Oil and Water’

At Bihar rally, Prime Minister accuses Opposition of insulting Chhath Puja, recalls ‘jungle raj’ era under RJD rule, and promises to boost Bihar’s development, culture, and pride.

Bihar, Oct 30 : At a massive public rally in Muzaffarpur on Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reaffirmed the BJP led NDA’s commitment to restoring Bihar’s pride, promoting its language and culture globally, and driving all round development in the state.

Targeting the RJD Congress alliance, the Prime Minister said internal conflicts within the Opposition were becoming increasingly visible. “The real news in this election is not the abuses hurled at me, but the fight within RJD and Congress. Their relationship is like oil and water  they may share the same glass, but can never truly mix,” he remarked.

Modi launched a sharp attack on the Opposition for allegedly disrespecting Chhath Puja. “The women who observe long fasts and stand in the Ganga to offer arghya to Surya Dev — RJD and Congress call it a drama. Will the mothers and sisters of Bihar tolerate this insult to Chhathi Maiya?” he asked, drawing loud applause from the crowd.

He said the Centre is working to secure UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage status for Chhath Mahaparva, adding, “This is my first rally after Chhath Puja, and I can see the same devotion and energy in the people of Bihar.”

Appealing to local pride, Modi said, “Yahan ki litchi jitni meethi hoti hai, utni hi meethi yahan ki boli bhi hai. I can see a large number of youth and women here… Phir ek baar NDA sarkar!”

On governance, Modi contrasted the NDA’s performance with the RJD’s rule, saying, “When there is good governance, everyone prospers; when there is jungle raj, everyone suffocates.”

He highlighted the success of the GST Bachat Utsav in Bihar, claiming it had boosted household savings and consumer spending. “Last year, 50,000 motorcycles were sold in Bihar during this period; this year, 1.5 lakh motorcycles have been sold — that’s the impact of development,” he said.

Refuting the Opposition’s criticism over migration, Modi said, “Bihar ke bete-beti ab palayan nahi karenge, Bihar mein hi kaam karenge, Bihar mein hi naam karenge.”

He assured that the NDA government would continue to create opportunities in education, employment, healthcare, and irrigation, so that Bihar’s youth no longer have to migrate for jobs.

Recalling the “dark days of jungle raj,” the Prime Minister said, “During RJD’s rule, even car showrooms shut down — not due to lack of business but due to loot and fear. Between 35,000–40,000 kidnappings took place; today’s youth cannot imagine that terror.”

Condemning recent statements and songs glorifying guns and abduction, Modi said, “The RJD–Congress people are even threatening to abduct our sisters and daughters. Such shameful acts show their mindset.”

On women’s empowerment, he asserted that both Narendra and Nitish have always prioritised women’s dignity. “We ensured houses in women’s names, tap water, free gas cylinders, and ration. Our government works for the safety, respect, and prosperity of women,” he said.

With chants of “Phir ek baar NDA sarkar” echoing through the rally, Modi ended his speech promising that Bihar’s development journey would continue under the NDA’s leadership.
