New Delhi, Feb 16 : New Delhi is preparing to host one of the largest global gatherings on artificial intelligence as the AI Impact Summit 2026 gets underway, placing India firmly at the centre of conversations shaping the future of emerging technologies.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will formally launch the India AI Impact Expo at Bharat Mandapam, signalling the start of the five day summit scheduled from February 16 to 20. The event is being viewed as a milestone moment for India’s growing influence in the global AI ecosystem and for amplifying the voice of the Global South in technology governance.
Global Tech Leaders and Heads of State to Attend
The summit has attracted participation from over 100 countries, with an impressive line-up of global technology leaders, policymakers and heads of state. Among the prominent figures expected are Google CEO Sundar Pichai, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, and Google DeepMind co-founder Demis Hassabis. Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates is also slated to attend.
In addition to industry leaders, presidents, prime ministers and senior government representatives will take part in high-level discussions. Officials indicate that more than 40 CEOs and 20 heads of state are expected, with potential investment commitments reportedly reaching up to $100 billion.
Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to meet 35–40 chief executives on the sidelines of the summit and will address the main plenary session on February 19.
Expansive Programme Across Multiple Venues
The AI Impact Summit 2026 will feature more than 3,000 speakers across over 500 sessions, covering a wide spectrum of themes from innovation and regulation to deployment and ethical frameworks. More than 300 exhibitions and live demonstrations are planned, showcasing cutting-edge solutions from startups, research institutions and established technology firms.
Events will be held across multiple venues in the national capital, including Bharat Mandapam and Sushma Swaraj Bhawan, reflecting the scale and ambition of the initiative.
By hosting this landmark summit, India aims to highlight its capability to deliver scalable AI solutions while strengthening its role in shaping global standards and collaborative frameworks for the next phase of technological transformation.
