Ekta Nagar (Kevadia), Oct 29: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Ekta Nagar, Kevadia, Gujarat, on October 30 and 31 to inaugurate development projects worth over ₹1,140 crore and lead the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, according to a government release on Wednesday.
On October 30, the Prime Minister will focus on strengthening tourism, connectivity, and sustainable infrastructure around the Statue of Unity. He will flag off electric buses at around 5:15 p.m. and later inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for several key projects worth over ₹1,140 crore.
Major projects include the Birsa Munda Tribal University at Rajpipla, the first phase of the Hospitality District at Garudeshwar, and an e-bus charging depot with 25 electric buses. These initiatives are part of the government’s broader vision to promote eco-tourism, green mobility, smart infrastructure, and tribal empowerment in the region.
On October 31, Prime Minister Modi will lead the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations, paying homage to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, India’s “Iron Man.” The day will begin with a floral tribute at the Statue of Unity at 8 a.m., followed by the Ekta Diwas pledge and a grand parade featuring contingents from the Central Armed Police Forces and various state police units.
To mark the historic occasion, a commemorative ₹150 coin and a postage stamp will be released in honour of Sardar Patel’s 150th birth anniversary.
The celebrations will also showcase India’s cultural diversity through performances by over 900 artists and ten thematic tableaux from different states and government agencies. Special highlights include a motorcycle daredevil show by Assam Police, the BSF Camel Contingent, and a display of Indian-bred dogs, symbolizing the spirit of “Unity in Diversity.”
