New Delhi, Dec 26: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday reaffirmed the government’s commitment to continue its reform agenda with greater vigour in the coming times, emphasizing initiatives aimed at improving the ‘Ease of Living’ for citizens.
Sharing a series of posts highlighting the government’s achievements, Modi said, “Ours is a Government committed to boosting ‘Ease of Living’… Our reform trajectory will continue with even more vigour in the coming times.”
The government, under hashtags #ReformInAction and #GoodGovernance, noted that 2025 marked a significant shift in governance, with reforms designed to reduce complexity and focus on tangible outcomes. Key measures include simpler tax laws, faster dispute resolution, modernized labour codes, and decriminalized compliance all aimed at reducing friction for citizens and businesses.
Income tax relief has been expanded, with individuals earning up to Rs 12 lakh now exempt from tax, allowing middle-class families to retain more of their earnings. The Income Tax Act, 2025 has been streamlined to enhance clarity, transparency, and fairness, making compliance easier.
MSMEs now benefit from higher investment and turnover limits, enabling expansion while retaining access to loans and tax incentives. Rural employment schemes have been redesigned to create lasting assets instead of temporary wages, strengthening community infrastructure and livelihoods.
Labour reforms have simplified 29 laws into four clear codes covering wages, safety, social security, and industrial relations, providing clearer rights, easier compliance, and stronger protections for women at the workplace.
GST reforms have been implemented to make taxation simpler and more efficient for businesses and consumers, with streamlined slabs, faster refunds, and automated processes. This has supported record festive sales, including Rs 6.05 trillion in Diwali transactions.
The government has also rationalized Quality Control Orders, reducing compliance costs for manufacturers and enhancing efficiency in global markets. The expanded definition of small companies now allows enterprises with turnovers up to Rs 100 crore to focus on innovation and growth.
Through these measures, the Modi government aims to deliver reforms that are practical, citizen-friendly, and growth-oriented, demonstrating how well-designed policies can improve everyday life.
