New Delhi, June 10: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a six-day tour of France and Slovakia from June 13, combining high-level diplomatic engagements with participation in major global forums aimed at addressing economic, technological and geopolitical challenges.
The visit will begin in the French city of Nice, where Modi is scheduled to hold talks with French President Emmanuel Macron on June 14. The discussions are expected to cover a broad range of issues under the India-France Special Global Strategic Partnership, with emphasis on strengthening cooperation in emerging sectors and advancing shared international priorities.
During their meeting in Nice, the two leaders will jointly launch the ‘Bharat Innovates’ initiative, an event designed to connect leading startups, investors and innovation ecosystems from India, France and other partner nations.
Following his engagements in France, Modi will travel to Slovakia for a State visit from June 14 to 16. The trip marks a historic milestone as it will be the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Slovakia since the country gained independence in 1993. Discussions are expected to focus on expanding collaboration in trade, investment, industrial manufacturing and infrastructure development.
The Prime Minister will then proceed to Evian to participate in the G7 Summit on June 16 and 17 at the invitation of the host nation. The summit agenda includes deliberations on global partnerships, international cooperation, sustainable economic growth and the responsible deployment of artificial intelligence. Modi is also expected to hold a series of bilateral meetings with world leaders on the sidelines of the gathering.
In the final phase of the tour, Modi will visit Paris on June 18 to attend VivaTech, one of Europe’s premier technology and startup events. The engagement is expected to highlight India’s growing influence in innovation, digital transformation and entrepreneurship while creating opportunities for deeper collaboration between Indian and European technology sectors.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the multi-nation visit is aimed at reinforcing India’s partnerships across Europe, enhancing cooperation in strategic and economic domains, and strengthening its role in addressing key global issues. The participation in international forums and innovation platforms is also expected to showcase India’s emergence as a leading technology and startup hub on the global stage.
