New Delhi, Apr 09 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday commemorated 11 years of the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, underscoring its pivotal role in fostering self employment and entrepreneurial spirit among the country’s youth.
Taking to X, the Prime Minister reflected on the journey of the initiative since its launch in 2015, noting that it has opened new avenues for aspiring entrepreneurs. He remarked that access to timely financial support has enabled individuals to build livelihoods independently while contributing to the nation’s economic growth.
The flagship scheme offers collateral free loans to micro and small enterprises, particularly targeting first time business owners. Over the years, it has emerged as a key instrument for promoting inclusive growth, with significant participation from women and underserved sections of society.
Highlighting the importance of determination and ethical conduct, Modi also shared a Sanskrit verse emphasising qualities such as self awareness, patience, initiative, and commitment to one’s goals as hallmarks of true wisdom.
Officials credit the programme with expanding access to formal credit systems, thereby reducing dependence on informal borrowing and energising grassroots economic activity. The initiative continues to play a central role in advancing India’s vision of self-reliance and enterprise driven development.
